The Merritt Trail is an historic trek across land that has a natural beauty all of its own. Some sections of the trail are intermittent, therefore, if you wish to follow the trail from beginning to end it is advisable to pick up a map. History enthusiasts will thoroughly enjoy viewing many of the old sections of the once active second Welland Canal.
